Summary Muhajirs have contributed to nation building can't think of belittling them, says Aitzaz.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Talking to the media on Tuesday, senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Aitzaz Ahsan said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has prolonged the situation by observing Youm-e-Ehtajaj.
He said Khursheed Shah had apologized regarding the word Muhajir adding that Shah cannot belittle Muhajirs as they themselves are servants to the ones who migrated from Makkah to Madina.
We respect Mujhairs and Pakistan owes them as they uplifted Pakistan by contributing their skills to the nation building.
He further stated that MQM is coloring the situation and giving it an different meaning.
He further clarified that some newspapers has associated his comments over the language used in Gujrat rally with chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, his comments were instead meant for chief Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad and that he totally refutes such a gesture.
In response to a question Aitzaz Ahsan said he does not forsee mid-term elections.
Both parties are adamant in their decision as prime minister Nawaz Sharif is not ready to step down and Imran Khan is not ready to back off from his demand of PM’s resignation.
Chief Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Allama Tahirul Qadri is gone as he realized his demads would not be met and so will Imran Khan, he added.
Criticizing MQM he said MQM has been associated with each and every government ever since in every form, either in federal or provincial government regardless of the party in power.
On the other hand, a meeting is being held among senior leadership of MQM and PM Nawaz in Islamabad today.
