Summary DCO Gujrat said the local administration has repeatedly warned PTI of the situation.
GUJRAT (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Gujrat administration on Wednesday defied district administration’s warning and decided to go ahead with the plan to build the stage for Friday’s rally on a weary balcony, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, PTI Gujrat is preparing for the Friday’s rally with enthusiasm and the party’s local administration is insisting on building the stage on a balcony on the designated venue that is depreciated and appears to be prone to accidents.
PTI’s local leader Usman Manzoor said that he oversaw the arrangements for the rally and that the party administration is installing extra metal pillars to support the balcony. He insisted “there’s nothing to worry about” and said that the city administration will express concerns about every venue.
Meanwhile, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Gujrat Liaquat Ali Chatha expressed concerns over the arrangement and said that there is danger if pavilion is filled with a lot of people. He said he has repeatedly warned the PTI administration that the stadium cannot be over-capacitated.
DCO Gujrat said that the local administration has given PTI the permission to hold the rally on an alternate venue but PTI isn’t convinced and is insisting to go ahead with the current venue.
He said if the local administration enforces anything, an issue will be created out of it.
