Summary The meeting will be briefed about the latest situation at the Pak-India working boundary and LoC.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is chairing the National Security Committee in Islamabad to discuss India s ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheid and Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz are present in the meeting.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and three services chiefs are also attending the meeting.

The committee will review the situation emerging in the face of Indian aggression along the LoC and the Sialkot Working Boundary.

The committee will also be briefed on the losses caused by the Indian shelling and Pak Army s response to India s violation of ceasefire.

The high-level meeting will discuss the progress made so far in ongoing anti-terrorism operation (Zarb-e-Azb) in North Waziristan tribal region.

It should be mentioned here that the unprovoked Indian fire has claimed lives of at least 13 innocent Pakistani civilians so far.

Exchanges of sporadic fire are common along the de facto border dividing the region, despite a ceasefire pact signed in 2003. But the extent and intensity of the latest violence and the number of civilian deaths is unusual.
