PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Saturday said that the atmosphere for midterm election depends on the government’s attitude. He said the demand of Prime Minister’s resignation is an insult to the constitution, urging the government and political parties to work for democratic stability, Dunya News reported.

Addressing a press conference, Sirajul Haq said that the political Jirga will resume the negotiation process after Eid, adding that he hopes for removal of the ‘political breaker’.

Jamaat chief said that he is a supporter of the constitution and that the demand of Prime Minister’s resignation is unconstitutional.

He urged the government and the political parties to change their attitudes and to work for the democratic stability.

Sirajul Haq said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province will hold the local body election before Punjab and Sindh He asked the provincial governments to take measures for local body elections.
