Summary Judicial commission to investigate election rigging has been agreed upon by govt and PTI

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Government and Pakistan tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) have agreed upon establishment of judicial commission to probe election rigging, Dunya News reported. According to the report, government and PTI have agreed upon setting up the judicial commission through presidential ordinance. PTI has agreed upon getting the rigging investigated within 45 days.

Earlier, PTI had demanded to finish the investigations within 30 days. PTI’s amended document regarding formation of judicial commission has been sent to the government. According to the document, PTI will give a list of constituencies, where it feels rigging has taken place, to the judicial commission and judicial commission will decide about which constituencies needed to be assessed.

Suggestion to add NADRA’s report of voters’ verification in the investigation has also been made in the document. Suggestion regarding investigating violation of People’s Representation Act 1976 and People’s Representation Act 1977 has also been added in this document. It has also been suggested in the document to add lack of material in the elections and misplacing of polling record in the investigation.
