Summary PPP has fielded its candidate against Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.
MULTAN (Web Desk) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Tuesday nominated Dr Javed Siddiqui as its candidate for the next month’s by-election in NA-149 constituency of Multan, Dunya News reported.
He was nominated after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, party’s parliamentary board and PPP south Punjab office-bearers reviewed the political situation in Multan.
Dr Javed Siddiqui has close ties with former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and previously remained member of the Punjab Assembly.
The NA-149 seat was declared vacant after Makhdoom Javed Hashmi tendered his resignation to the National Assembly speaker earlier this month.
Hashmi will now contest polls as an independent candidate.
