Summary Police had filed case against Imran Khan for getting detained workers released from police custody.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided to lodge a case against the illegitimate detention of PTI workers and besiegement of Chairman PTI Imran Khan’s residency that took place Sunday night.
Off to Bani Gala, Imran Khan put a halt to his caravan when he saw detained PTI activists in a police van near Lake View Park. Khan rebuked the policemen and got 15 PTI workers released.
Imran Khan stated that Islamabad police has been illegally arresting PTI workers specially women, torturing them and transferring them to unknown location and guest houses.
The police said that the arrest of the workers is taking place in the wake of violation of article 144. Large contingent of police besieged Imran Khan’s residence but later stepped back. According to the sources, around 1500 policemen were deployed outside Khan’s residency in Bani Gala.
Islamabad police had filed a case against Chairman PTI in Bani Gala police station, alleging him of releasing 15 detained PTI workers from police custody on his way to Bani Gala on Sunday night.
Senior PTI leader Naeemul Haq while talking to Dunya News said these unlawful arrests would be challenged in the high court and that detention of peaceful activists and besiegement of Khan’s Bani Gala residency is illegitimate.
Police has released 30 PTI workers on bail on Monday.
