KARACHI (Dunya News) – The teachers who had staged sit-in protest for as many as eight days started marching towards the Bilawal House on Thursday after failed negotiation but were soon met with the wrath of police in form of water cannon and baton charge, Dunya News reported.

According to the details, the teachers had staged a sit-in protest over non-payment of salaries for over eight days.
The negotiations with Education Minister Nisar Khorro failed following which, Khorro advised the teachers to reappear in tests and reapply for the teaching positions.
While refusing Khorro’s advice, the protesting teachers started marching towards the Bilawal House.
The police stopped the protesters using water cannon and baton charge and took thirteen teachers including two women into custody.
The teachers said their protest will continue until their demands are met.
