Summary Shahbaz Sharif says that Imran's remarks about Chinese investment can disrupt Pak-China relations.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that Imran Khan’s irresponsible remarks terming Chinese investment as a loan are part of some conspiracy to disrupt Pakistan-China relations, Dunya News reported.
Shahbaz Sharif speaking to the media in Lahore shortly before his visit to the flood-hit areas of Punjab said that a critical 10,400 megawatt power project was due to be signed during the scheduled Chinese President’s visit to Pakistan. He further explained that the visit had a hundred percent investment agenda and not a single rupee of debt was involved. Condemning the allegations leveled by PTI chairman Imran Khan, he said that Imran Khan has given three contradictory statements regarding the postponement of Chinese President’s visit to Pakistan. He said that allegations labeling Chinese investment as a loan is yet another lie by Imran Khan.
Earlier, Imran Khan had rejected the government’s claim of an investment from China and has instead alleged that the government was due to seek a loan worth billion dollars from China during the now cancelled trip of Chinese President to Pakistan.
