Summary MPA Rana Shoaib Idrees of PMLN has been arrested in Faislabad after bail cancellation.
FAISLABAD (Dunya News) – Provincial lawmaker of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Rana Shoaib Idrees who was caught on tape for attacking a police station was arrested in Faislabad on Thursday after his bail was cancelled, Dunya News reported. Rana Shoaid had filed a petition for confirmation of bail in Anti-Terrorism court of Faislabad after he was granted a protective bail by Lahore High Court till August 11. The bail petition was dismissed by ATC of Faislabad after four case hearings and today after the bail cancellation Rana Shoaib was arrested by Khurianwala Police Station. According to police, Rana Shoaib with his accomplices attacked the Khurianwala Police Station in order to free his companions on July 19. The accused allegedly tortured police officials including sub inspector Riyasat Ali, damaged the official property of the police station and fled away after setting free his companions from the jail. Other than being charged under Section 7 of the anti-terrorism act (ATA) 1997, Rana Shoaib has some serious cases registered against him. In spite of Rana Shoaib’s defensive statements claiming that the footage presented by police as evidence was over a year old of an incident that occurred before the general elections, the police had held him guilty from the beginning of the case.
