Summary A heavy downpour on Wednesday evening inundated low-lying areas in Lahore.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore and its suburbs received heavy rain on Wednesday. The city roads gave a look of canals after heavy rain which started around 4:00pm and continued till filing of this report.
Several roads in the city, including Davis Road, Jail Road, Abbot Road, McLeod Road, Nisbat Road, were submerged under three to four feet of rainwater. Dozens of motorcycles and cars were trapped on flooded roads and people faced hardship in reaching their homes.
A number of feeders also tripped in city due to heavy rain and several localities remained under darkness during the night. Rainwater also entered hundreds of homes in low-lying areas.
According to Met Office, Lahore received 123 millimetre rain so far. The Met Office has predicted more rain in the city during nest 48 hours.
