ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Negotiations that the government had started with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have come to a halt. PTI has presented 4 demands to end this deadlock while PAT has presented 2.

Sitting outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Chairman PTI Imran Khan and PAT Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri agreed for negotiations yesterday (Wednesday) giving everyone a hope for a political solution of the crisis. However, the dialogue process is currently at a halt.

PTI claims that its workers are being arrested throughout the country and the government does not seem to be serious in the dialogue. The party has put four demands before the government to restart the negotiations.

Four demands of PTI are as follows:

1.       Remove containers from Islamabad.

2.       Government must guarantee no crackdown on PTI workers.

3.       Government must stop arresting PTI workers.

4.       Supply of food items must be ensured in Red Zone.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has also put four demands before the government to restart the negotiations. Their demands are as follows:

1.       Government must assure that it will not use force against the workers.

2.       Containers must be removed from exit and entrance routes of Islamabad.

Although, government has already assured that the use of force is not under consideration, it has not come up with any assurances about the other demands as yet.
