Govt permits PAT sit-in at Faisal Avenue

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Government has permitted Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to hold a sit-in at Faisal Avenue in Islamabad. According to the latest news, PAT Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri will lead the procession to Islamabad and will stage a sit-in at Faisal Avenue.

According to the No Objection Certificate (NOC) received by the PAT, the party has been allowed to hold its sit-in. According to the NOC, PAT can hold its rally between Khayaban-e-Amin and Zero Point.

Earlier, PAT had requested the government to allow it a place in Blue Area of Islamabad to hold its sit-in. Islamabad administration had denied PAT the permission due to security reasons.

The government has also allowed Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) to hold its sit-in at Zero Point in Islamabad. Currently, PTI rally is on its way to Islamabad. Some serious clashes between the workers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League (N) were observed on GT Road near Gujranwala. 4 PTI workers were left injured in these clashes as PML-N workers pelted stones at the PTI convoy. Chairman PTI Imran Khan left for Islamabad in a bullet-proof car later in order to avoid any unfortunate incident. His ‘Azadi March’ is still on its way to Islamabad.

PAT rally is also nearing Islamabad according to the latest reports. The two convoys are expected to reach Islamabad tonight.
