Summary Petition to form judicial commission to probe Khan's rigging claims

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) -- The federal government Secretary of Law and ‎Justice petitions to the Supreme Court (SC) Registrar for the ‎formation of a three-member judicial commission to investigate the rigging of ‎‎2013 elections.‎


According to the text of the petition, the federal government is allowed to create a ‎commission under the Inquiry Act 1956, hence, the federal government has ‎decided to formulate a commission to investigate the claims of Pakistan ‎Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan pertaining to the rigging of 2013 ‎elections.‎


In the light of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s address to the nation, the ‎government has decided to formulate a judicial commission comprising of three ‎SC judges. The Cabinet Division will provide secretariat support to the judicial ‎commission.‎


According to the text of the petition, the commission will give a report on the ‎rigging allegations of 2013 elections, additionally, the report will also state the ‎prime benefactor of this rigging, if any.
