Punjab police clashes with PAT workers, 2 personnel killed

Summary Belligerent workers torch cars, ransack police stations and brutalize policemen.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Carnage continues in different areas of Punjab as ‎clashes erupt between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and Punjab ‎police, two police officers killed by workers’ firing, 55 personnel injured in ‎Gujranwala, Khusab and Gojra police stations ransacked by PAT workers.‎


Countless cases were registered against PAT workers under the Anti-Terrorism ‎Act as PAT workers continued to wreak havoc at the Bhera interchange while ‎throwing stones and torching as many as eight cars. One murdered police ‎official was identified was Fayyaz. Several police officials were injured at ‎Kamoke toll plaza as police continued mindless shelling at workers in their ‎defense whereas workers unrelentingly kept stoning at them.‎


PAT workers injured numerous police officials including Station House Officer ‎‎(SHO), Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) and other constables by using ‎sticks laden with steel nails, who are hospitalized now.‎


Police was successful in stopping the convoy of PAT workers at Pind Dadan ‎Khan whereas police was also successful in barring workers at Narrowal by ‎placing containers at all access routes. All entry points and exits were sealed at ‎Bhawalnagar.
