ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervez Rasheed has said that a briefing about Operation Zarb-e-Azb was given today during the National Security Conference.

Talking to a press conference after attending the National Security Conference in Islamabad today (Saturday) Pervez Rasheed told that the Director General Military Operations briefed the political leadership of the country about the progress made by the military in the operation against the terrorists.

Criticizing Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, Pervez Rasheed said that Imran Khan has a habit of blaming every move that we make. “Not attending National Security Conference puts question mark on PTI s intentions”, the Information Minister said.

Pervez Rasheed informed that all the political parties except PTI attended the conference. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was unable to attend the conference because of bad weather. “It seems that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK) Pervez Khattak did not attend the conference due to political reasons”, wondered Pakistan Muslim League (N) Senator.

Participants of the conference were briefed about the situation of the people affected by the operation and the measures that have been taken for them. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved grant for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Prime Minister welcomed the participation of all political parties in the National Security Conference.

“Imran Khan has developed a habit of blaming every move made by the government but we shall continue to strive for the betterment of Pakistan”, said Information Minister.

PMLN stalwart said that if Imran Khan wanted recounting on 10 constituencies, he would find the government ready for it. He said that his party was not afraid of showing flexibility in larger interest of the nation.

Moreover, Pervez Rasheed said that Imran Khan was praising the government when it was holding talks with the Taliban but ever since the government has decided to take action against the terrorists, Imran Khan has been hostile.

PMLN leader said that government is ready to show flexibility for the nation but Imran Khan wants to hold protest on the Independence Day.

Responding sharply to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s claim that 7 PAT workers have been killed by Punjab Police, Pervez Rasheed said that Tahirul Qadri was lying and maintained that none of PAT workers had been killed.
