Summary Tahirul Qadri claims 8 killed, over 1000 critically wounded.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri has claimed that at least eight workers are killed and over a thousand are critically wounded, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the media in Lahore, he alleged that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered direct firing at the Youm-e-Shohada participants arriving from other cities.
Taking a step backwards, Tahirul Qadri directed the workers arriving from other cities to stop advancing to Lahore and to observe the Youm-e-Shohada wherever they are.
“Stay where you are, observe Youm-e-Shohada right there, don’t shed more blood”, he said while directing the workers.
Qadri urged the workers to rest the case with God, adding that God will answer the prayers of the ‘oppressed’ if the nation, international community, civil and ‘other’ institutions don’t pay heed to our cause.
He alleged that the government resorted to the ‘extreme cruelty’ to stop Youm-e-Shohada.
PAT chief said that over a thousand workers are critically injured, claiming they are not receiving proper treatment. He alleged that the government has withheld the medical treatment from the wounded workers.
“My supporters are being deprived of basic facilities including food, shelter and medicine”, he said.
“Rulers want to burn the country down.”
Tahirul Qadri alleged that chemical and explosive substances have been filled in the containers placed as barriers.
He claimed that whole Punjab has been sealed by the government in order to prevent PAT workers from joining the Youm-e-Shohada.
Claiming that direct firing in Bhera and Bhakkar on PAT workers is taking place, Qadri said that the Lahore to Islamabad Motorway has become a battleground.
