Summary All routes leading to Punjab have been blocked and rangers have been deployed
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government has imposed section 144 in the province while banning all protests within the province whereas it has also blocked all routes, which join Punjab to the other three provinces. Rangers have been deployed within the province for security purposes.
Punjab Interior Minister has directed all District Coordination Officers’ (DCO) to impose section 144 within the province and public gatherings of more than five people have been banned.
Punjab government has requested the federal government to provide two helicopters for the surveillance of ‘Azadi and Long March’. The Punjab government has written a letter to the federal government requesting for suspension of mobile services on ‘Martyrs day’.
Containers have been positioned at Raiwind road and Jati Umrah road police are searching the public at these locations for possible terrorist suspects. It has been decided to block motorway routes entering Faisalabad where containers have already been placed to seal all routes leading to Punjab.
Many other routes leading to Punjab have been blocked by police deployment and containers, including Okara, Quetta, Sadiqabad, and Gujrat.
