Summary All routes leading to Punjab have been blocked and rangers have been deployed

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government has imposed section 144 in the province while banning all ‎protests within the province whereas it has also blocked all routes, which join Punjab to the other ‎three provinces. Rangers have been deployed within the province for security purposes.‎

Punjab Interior Minister has directed all District Coordination Officers’ (DCO) to impose section 144 ‎within the province and public gatherings of more than five people have been banned.

Punjab ‎government has requested the federal government to provide two helicopters for the surveillance of ‎‎‘Azadi and Long March’. The Punjab government has written a letter to the federal government ‎requesting for suspension of mobile services on ‘Martyrs day’.


Containers have been positioned at Raiwind road and Jati Umrah road police are searching the public at ‎these locations for possible terrorist suspects. It has been decided to block motorway routes entering ‎Faisalabad where containers have already been placed to seal all routes leading to Punjab.


Many other routes leading to Punjab have been blocked by police deployment and containers, ‎including Okara, Quetta, Sadiqabad, and Gujrat.‎
