ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – During the National Assembly Session today (Friday), opposition parties have sought record of imposition of Article 245 in different cities of the country, Dunya News reported.
On the occasion, Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah said that Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar had mentioned that Article 245 of the Constitution was imposed twenty four times during last seven years but he has not provided any record to the opposition in this regard.
The Article 245 of the Constitution of Pakistan authorizes the civil administration to call army personals to assist in the civil administration matters.
The federal government took the decision to impose Article 245 in the federal capital following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf 's (PTI) proposed long march on August 14.
Addressing the National Assembly, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said government is sabotaging the situation by using undemocratic tactics.
Petrol supply is being suspended and party workers are being detained in different areas, he said.
The PTI leader confirmed that his party has received invitation regarding participation in the National Security Conference but decision on this will be taken after thorough consultation.
Talking to media outside the National Assembly, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Raheed said that whole nation awaits Azadi March. Summoning security conference against the rally is a non-political act.
He said PTI chief Imran Khan and PAT head Dr Tahirul Qadri must unite to get rid of the government.
