Summary Shujaat says govt shouldn't link the national security conference with their own security concerns.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PMLQ)’s head Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain termed the National Security Conference as a conference for government’s own security. The government shouldn’t mix the national security with the issue of their own security, he added.
As a response to government’s call for a National Security Conference, Shujaat Hussain said that the country is safe and there is no threat to the national security of the country either. There is no need to call a National Security Conference in the present circumstances, he said. He further said that the government is feeling unsafe because the public is retaliating against the government policies; therefore, the government is probably confusing the National Security Conference with the matter of their personal security.
He told the media that he has not received any conference invitation yet, adding that he will decide to attend the conference only after going through its basic agenda.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called upon a national security conference at 10 am in Islamabad tomorrow.
The conference would be presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while all four chief ministers, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) LGeneral Zaheerul Islam and other significant ministers of the federal cabinet will participate in the meeting. Parliamentary leaders of other political parties have also been invited to participate.
The participants of the meeting would be briefed about the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan including the discussion on other internal national security issues.
