PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Several suspected militants were killed when gunship helicopters targeted their hideouts in Qutab Khel area in Miranshah, Dunya news reported on Friday.
Locals have continued to move to safer places as it is last day for tribesmen to vacate the affected areas.
So far, nearly seventy thousand people have moved to safe locations during last few days.
According to military sources, deadline for completion of operation Zarb-e-Azb could not be given. Terrorists’ communication system has also been dismantled.
Sources told that concerned authorities have been requested to counter usage of Afghan mobile SIMs. In this regard, Afghan authorities have assured full cooperation.
Military sources said that precise airstrikes are being carried out with complete coordination.
Earlier on Thursday, at least 15 terrorists were killed in Zartatangi mountain heights, east of Miranshah, by Army gunship cobra helicopters.
In a separate sniper action, eight Uzbeks were killed around Miranshah while planting IEDs on the Miranshah-Mirali road.
Meanwhile, security forces have continued to cordon off the areas in North Wazirstan Agency where terrorists are hiding.
