LAHORE (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Member National Assembly (MNA) Tahira Asif who was shot in Lahore on Wednesday succumbed to injuries just after Thursday midnight, Dunya News reported.
MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Ms Asif is survived by two sons and a daughter. Tahira Asif was shifted to ICU on Thursday after a long surgery.
MQM leader was travelling in Allama Iqbal Town when she was stopped by unknown assailants who first confirmed her identity prior to shooting her in abdomen and leg.
She was immediately shifted to Sheikh Zaid Hospital. According to the doctors four bullets pierced her body.
Doctors took out all the bullets and shifted her to the ICU but she was again taken to operation theatre owing to blood loss where she was again operated.
After the second successful surgery, she has been shifted to ICU.
