ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Shireen Mazari said on Wednesday that the main threat to democracy in the country is Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led government, Dunya News reported.
Reacting over the statement of Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed, she said that the government that came into power through rigging cannot restore peace in the country.
Mazari said Rashid was leveling false charges against PTI chief Imran Khan to conceal the failures of the federal government.
She said that Pervaiz Rasheed seem to be busy representing Geo TV instead of federal government.
Earlier, talking to media in Islamabad, Pervaiz Rasheed lashed out at opposition parties’ leaders Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri, alleging that Khan is targeting democratic institutions while Qadri is attacking the constitution.
He said talks will be held with those who are willing to talk to the government and people holding guns will be responded in the same manner.
The minister said it is government’s responsibility to ensure security of public property, airports, defence and educational institutions.
Government will use full force to quell militancy. Ground and air operations would be conducted to avert the threats, he said.
Lashing out at leadership of the opposition party, Pervaiz Rasheed said there is strategic partnership between Imran Khan and Taliban. Government is ready to face Taliban, Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri.
He said Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAF) chief Tahirul Qadri is coming to Pakistan to target its constitution.
