Summary Atique Ahmed was suspended by former LESCO chief for not becoming part of alleged corruption.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday restored Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Projected Director Atique Ahmad.
Justice Baqir Ali Najfi of Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the petition.
Petitioner Attique Ahmad took the stance that the former LESCO chief Arshad Rafique has suspended him after refusal to become the pat of corruption whereas the LESCO was not authorized to suspend a project director. He requested to the court to nullify the order of former LESCO chief.
The LHC restored Atique Ahmed as the project director.
It is worth mentioning here that Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) chief Arshad Rafique had been removed from office on June 2 on charges of a corruption based decision.
According to sources, around 10-hour power shutdown in different areas of Lahore on May 27 was the main reason behind the decision.
The sources added that the power shutdown was based on financial corruption instead of administrative decision.
The LESCO officials were involved in the decision and deprived residents of Lahore of electricity in order to provide electricity to the textile sector’s feeder.
LESCO’s operational director Mehboob Ali had also been removed and arrested while FIA launched a probe into the illegal decision of May 27’s electricity shutdown.
