Summary Two soldiers embraced martyrdom while three others were injured in cross-border attack.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan on Wednesday condemned attacks on two border posts in Bajaur Agency from Afghan side.
Earlier today, two Pakistani border posts, Manozangal and Moukha tops in Bajaur Agency, were attacked by terrorists from across Afghanistan.
As a result of this unprovoked firing, two Pakistani soldiers were martyred and three others, including one officer, were injured. It is the third incident of cross-border attack in the last 10 days.
"Pakistan condemns these unprovoked attacks." the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry said that this matter has been raised with the Afghan government in Kabul and with their Embassy in Islamabad. It has been emphasized that Afghanistan must take concrete steps to stop the use of its territory against Pakistan.
For its part, Pakistan remains committed to supporting all efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
On May 31, the Pakistani military said nearly 200 Pakistani Taliban fighters, who officials say now operate from Afghan soil, launched attacks on Pakistani border posts in Bajaur tribal region, killing one soldier and injuring several others.
In retaliation, Pakistani forces had killed 16 militants, according to the army.
