ISLAMABAD ( Dunya News) - Three-member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab heard treason case against ex-president Pervez Musharraf.

Prosecutor Akram Sheikh Sheikh handed over investigation, intelligence and cabinet meeting reports to the defendants.

The documents consisted of 838 pages. 

Justice Faisal Arab remarked the above-mentioned reports should have been given at least 5 days prior to the hearing. Prosecutor Akram Sheikh responded that it took time to get reports from the department concerned.

The arguments regarding seeking the National Assembly record will be present in the court tomorrow.

A plea was taken by Mushrraf’s attorneys that a resolution passed in the National Assembly in favour of Musharraf’s November, 3 action.

The court put off the hearing to review the documents till tomorrow.

Musharraf was indicted in the case for suspending the constitution when he declared Emergency rule in 2007.

He assumed power in Pakistan in a bloodless coup when he dismissed the government of then prime minister Nawaz Sharif in 1999.

Musharraf resigned in 2008 as president and went into exile, but returned to Pakistan in March last year to run in the parliamentary elections. However, a court disqualified him from contesting in the general elections held in May 2013.
