Govt passes 3 bills in Punjab Assembly despite opposition's strife

Summary Assembly's session was adjourned until Friday morning despite opposition’s outcry.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Opposition at Punjab Assembly accused the acting speaker Punjab Assembly of illegally occupying land. Opposition members once again protested when speaker disallowed them to argue over the allegation against the speaker. Government approved three bills despite all the strife, Dunya News reported.
Punjab Assembly’s session started with a 75 minute delay and acting speaker Sardar Sher Gorchani presided. Opposition members accused the speaker of illegally occupying land and tried to present their arguments over the allegations but were stopped by the speaker. Opposition members voiced their anger through a vocal protest where they torn down agenda books as well.
The opposition members complained that they are barred of speaking or putting forth a motion on a daily basis.
They said that they want to bring various issues into discussion including reformation of Election Commission, development funds but the assembly is barring them from doing so.
Government continued the assembly session as per routine and approved at least three bills including livestock law draft and civil servant amendment bill.
Assembly’s session was adjourned until Friday morning despite opposition’s outcry.
