Summary Hearing of Hajj quota case has been adjourned till May 23.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs not to allot the quota of Hajj pilgrims of government scheme to private tour operators.
Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan of LHC heard the case.
During case proceedings, petitioner Azhar Siddiq told court that the Ministry of Religious Affairs is illegally allotting Hajj quota to private tour operators. Hajj pilgrims are facing difficulties to increasing expenditures.
Meanwhile, the court barred the ministry from allotting the quota of 15,000 Hajj pilgrims to private tour operators.
The court has also directed the Federal Government and Ministry of Religious Affairs to submit written reply by May 23.
