Summary Says the government has no objection to issuance of an identity card to Altaf Hussain.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News/Agencies) - Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that MQM is only trying to complicate Altaf Hussain’s identity card issue through agitations.

Addressing a news conference here on Friday, Chaudhry Nisar said the government had no objection to issuance of an identity card to MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

He said deviating from the normal procedure, NADRA officials were summoned to the residence of Altaf Hussain in London but the registration form has not so far been submitted with NADRA. He wondered how identity card can be issued without uploading of the data on NADRA system.

The minister said the government has no objection to issuance of identity card to Altaf Hussain, rather it wants to facilitate the process.

Nisar said the government wants to make the next round of talks with Taliban meaningful and result-oriented.

The Minister said the government cannot be blamed for the delay, as it was decided during the last two rounds that Taliban would convey date and venue of the next round but they could not.

Chaudhry Nisar said a new system of security is being introduced in Islamabad from next week. Under the new arrangement, police and rangers would ensure patrolling round-the-clock to check street crimes and other criminal activities.
