ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) has approved two billion rupee-Ramazan Relief Package on essential commodities being sold at Utility Stores.

The ECC met in Islamabad on Friday with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair.

As per details, Rs 6 per kilogram subsidy will be given on wheat flour, Rs 10 per kg on ghee and oil; Rs 10 per kg each on Dal channa, Moong, Mash, Masoor, Gram, Baisen, Dates, Sella, Broken Rice and squashes and syrups.

Rs 50 per kg concession will be given on black tea, 10 rupees per litre on milk (tetra pack) and prices of spices will be reduced by 10 percent.

The ECC was informed that recently the Mari Petroleum Company Ltd. has discovered additional gas in Pirkoh area. The committee gave approval to the proposal that 6MMCFD gas, which will be available from this field for an estimated period of 18 months, to be allocated to Thermal Power Station Guddu of WAPDA.

ECC also approved summary for issuance of sovereign guarantee of up to 31 billion for the power sector.
