Govt reduces Hajj fare by Rs 23,000

Summary Minister says transport and residence will be provided to the pilgrims during stay in Saudi Arabia.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The government has announced to reduce Hajj fare by Rs 23000.

Talking to media here on Monday, Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Sardar Mohammad Yousaf said that residence and transportation facilities would be provided to the pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

Responding to a question, Sardar Yousaf said that more than 2, 600 seminaries of all sects were registered however the government was not carrying out operation against any particular sect in the name of reforms.

The minister said that the government was engaged in dialogue with all schools of thought to present the soft image of the madaris at international level.

Responding to another question, the minister said that the government has made arrangement of vaccination for the pilgrims in collaboration with Turkey.

Earlier on Friday, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced to reduce Umra fare by Rs 6000.

After reduction in oil prices in the global market, PIA announced reduction in airfares for Umra pilgrims and domestic travelers upon direction from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
