Summary Says Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered to take steps to stop power theft.

MULTAN (Web Desk) - State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said the present government had decided not to allow power theft anywhere in the country.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Abid Sher Ali said that electricity theft in Pakistan had become a political issue. He said efforts were being made to ensure that there was a maximum of eight hours load shedding in cities.

He said accountability have been continued in whole country regarding electricity theft, adding that the government wanted  to throw out black sheep’s from the government institutions to make them corruption free.

Abid Sher Ali said the officers who will perform better, the government will give bonus to them and those who would make hindrances in the power institutions they will face punishments.

He said as many as 25 feeders of Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) are on high losses, therefore, 14 to 16 hours load shedding will be carried out in the in areas receiving electricity from these feeders.
