Court orders to produce FBI agent, challan on may 19

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Adjourning the hearing of FBI agent case till May 19, judicial magistrate Malir has ordered to produce the accused Joel Cox and challan during next hearing.

The investigation officer apprised the court that the accused was released on bail from session court. The officer sought time for producing challan in the court.

Meanwhile, Joel Cox was also present with his lawyer during today's hearing. 

The FBI agent was arrested from Karachi airport on May 5 for carrying ammunition and three knives onto an airplane.

FBI agent Joel Cox is free on 1 million rupees ($9,800) bail. Police investigator Khalid Mahmood says Cox appeared Saturday before a judge in Karachi, the capital of southern Sindh province.

Mahmood says police told the judge they need more time to file formal charges. 

Cox arrived in Karachi on May 1 and was detained Monday after officials found him with the ammunition, knives and electronic devices as he was preparing to board a flight to Islamabad.

The arrest is a new strain on relations between Pakistan and the U.S
