KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution against illegal Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) in the county, Dunya News reported.
The resolution was tabled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Dr Seema Zia.
The PTI lawmaker was of the view that there are 4.5 million unregistered SIMs in the country and 90% of the crimes took place with help of these SIMs.
The resolution urged that the government should take action to curb the use of illegal SIMs.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have supported the resolution.
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon said federal government has already been requested to take action against illegal and unregistered SIMs.
