Pakistan protests to India over pilgrims' visa rejection

Summary Foreign Office summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner to record the protest.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan lodged strong protest to India over rejection of visa applications of 500 pilgrims desiring to visit renowned Sufi saint Khawaja Moin ud Din Chishti’s tomb for spiritual rituals on the occasion of Urs, Dunya News reported.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson, as many as 500 applicants had desired to visit India to participate in Urs of famous Sufi saint Khawaja Moin ud Din Chishti but Indian government rejected their visa applications.
India’s Deputy High Commissioner was summoned at Foreign Office to record the protest. Pakistan submitted that refusal of visa issuance to pilgrims is a violation of 1974 mutual protocol accord.
