Summary The current capacity of Guddu power plant will increase from 1655 MW to 2402 MW.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate two units of 243 MW each at Guddu Power Plant on Monday as part of the government’s efforts to meet the energy shortfall the country frequently experiences, Radio Pakistan reported. 

According to details, the two projects have been completed six-week ahead of the stipulated time with the cooperation of a Chinese company.

The early completion will save 58.6 billion rupees.

The third unit of similar capacity to be commissioned in May this year, will add a total of 747 MW to the system.

The addition of three power units will increase the current capacity of Guddu from 1655 MW to 2402 MW.
