Punjab govt committed to eradicate Dengue: Riaz

Summary Says the government had saved thousands of human lives by taking timely steps during the last years.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - MNA Malik Riaz said war against dengue has not yet finished completely and the struggle would continue till complete eradication of the disease.

Addressing an anti-Dengue awareness seminar at Government Degree College for Women Shahdara, Malik Riaz said the Punjab government had saved thousands of human lives by taking timely steps during the last years and all segments of the society would have to play their effective role against dengue virus to defeat it through collective efforts.

“We should not be afraid of dengue, but fight against it. We will ensure complete elimination of dengue virus through the effective steps on part of the Punjab government and vigorous support of the people,” he said.

Principal Shahida Mehtab delivered a comprehensive briefing about dengue virus, growth, control, different stages of dengue larvae and its eradication by adopting mechanical, biological and chemical measures.

The students also distributed wakefulness pamphlets among the people regarding causes of the spread of Dengue and precautionary measure to be adopted against it.
