ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has said that those involved in the Islamabad blast will be brought to justice very soon, adding that an investigation has been launched in this regard.
At least 24 people were killed while over 95 others injured in a blast at fruit market in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Addressing the media in Islamabad, Interior Minister said it was not possible for the police to check every passing vehicle individually. He lamented none of the province had latest technology, adding that the scanners bought for one billion rupees by the former government were useless.
Interior minister confirmed that the heirs of the blast victims will be financially compensated. Nisar has also sought report over blast from police.
Earlier, Information Minister Pervez Rashid he said the investigation agencies are probing into the incident and their reports will be made public.
Information Minister said banned outfits have condemned the incident and dissociated themselves from it.
He said the elements perpetrating violence are weakening and have become isolated. He said the government s efforts for restoration of peace have started producing results and violent incidents have witnessed a significant decline.
The Minister said the process to shift the injured to hospitals and dead to their homes was completed satisfactorily. He said the Prime Minister despite travelling to China constantly inquired about the incident and directed to provide early compensation to the dead and injured. He said hospitals have enough supplies of drugs and blood for the injured.
He appreciated the citizens of twin cities who helped in shifting injured to hospital and also donated blood.
Earlier the Information Minister visited Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and inquired about the health of the injured in Sabzi Mandi blast. He directed the hospital staff to provide best medical facilities to the injured.
