ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif chaired an informal consultative meeting in Islamabad today (Tuesday) to discuss key issues, Dunya News reported.
The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Information Minister Pervez Rasheed.
According to sources, the meeting reviewed former president Pervez Musharraf’s request for removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
It may be mentioned here that a three-member special bench rejected Musharraf’s application on Monday and advised him to approach the federal government to seek removal of his name from the ECL.
The court said it has no jurisdiction to bar Musharraf from leaving the country as he is not under arrest in the high treason case.
The Interior Ministry has previously rejected Musharraf s request for permission to go abroad for treatment.
Separately, the meeting headed by the Prime Minister discussed developments in ongoing dialogue process with the Taliban.
The leaders also discussed future course of action in the meeting.
