BAHAWALPUR (Dunya News) – Election Tribunal Bahawalpur has disqualified Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PMLN) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Khan Muhammad Jatoi elected from Muzaffargarh’s constituency PP 259 over forged degree case. The tribunal further ordered a re-polling in the constituency, Dunya News reported.
Deciding over a petition filed by Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) candidate Sardar Samiullah Khan, election tribunal announced the disqualifying verdict while ordering a re-poll in the PP 259 constituency.
The basis for disqualification was lack of honesty which is a compulsory provision for candidates under the heading of ‘Saadiq and Amin’.
Khan M was also disqualified by Layyah election tribunal in 2006’s by-poll over fake matriculation certificates.
