ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, while retracting his claim about resignation if dollar devaluated, said on Friday that his is the only seat in the assembly and that his resignation will not bring about the ‘doomsday’, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that dollar is still priced at 102.80 in Rawalpindi adding that the real difference would be when electricity and petrol prices will reduce by Rs. 10 per unit.
Sheikh Rasheed said that if 1.5 billion dollars are for Pakistan development fund then why the development funds of MNAs are not released.
He said that those who have lifted dollars from the market over devaluation should be inquired. He said that he would have resigned long time ago if he knew his resignation was of this importance, adding that even street vendors in his owns street are wondering if he would resign.
“The biggest issue of this nation is my resignation?” he asked.
Sheikh Rasheed said that he won’t refer to federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar as ‘munshi’ anymore because Dar talked about him ‘with respect.’
He said that the drought and famine condition in Tharparkar is worse than that of Somalia.
