Summary Former military ruler Pervez Musharraf will be indicted on March 11.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Rejecting all pleas filed by counsels of Pervez Musharraf, the court stated that the high treason case against the former president will be heard by special court.
In its order, the court said that the army act that the counsels mentioned in the plea, cannot be applied if the accused has been retired from the post. It also said that the army act of 1977 was declared null and void in 1981.
The court also rejected the plea over the jurisdiction of the special court, saying that it had complete authority to try Musharraf for high treason.
Earlier, Musharraf’s legal team filed three applications including jurisdiction of the special court and transferring the trial to military court under army act.
Meanwhile, decision over another petition relating to the issue of biased judges will be announced on March 4.
Furthermore, Musharraf has been summoned on March11. Former military ruler is likely to be indicted on that day.
Addressing the media, counsel for Musharraf Ahmed Raza Kasuri said that the facts were twisted, adding that the verdict of special court was incorrect.
