Summary A three-member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab is hearing the case.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - A special court in Islamabad formed to try former president military ruler General (retired) Pervez Musharraf for high treason resumed its hearing Tuesday.
During case proceedings, Justice Faisal Arab asked “Where is Pervez Musharraf?”
Musharraf’s senior lawyer Anwar Mansoor told court court that his client will appear any time before court today.
At the last hearing, Mansoor had given his personal assurance to bring Musharraf on February 18.
The 70-year-old Musharraf is facing the charge of high treason, which can carry the death sentence, for imposing emergency and subverting the constitution in 2007.
On the other hand, more than 2300 police and Rangers personnel have been deployed on the roads to ensure Musharraf’s security.
A bomb proof vehicle along with heavy contingent of police has arrived at the Armed Forces of Institute of Cardiology, where the former president is under treatment.
Meanwhile, the Special Court has reserved its judgement on a plea regarding shifting of Musharraf s trial to the military court.
