ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday took notice of alleged police torture on MQM worker Fahad Aziz, Dunya news reported.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sought report from Inspector General Sindh within 24 hours.
The Prime Minister also directed for tracing those involve in the torture.
He issued the directives after MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar wrote a letter to the Prime Minister in this regard.
Fahd Aziz‚ an MQM activist‚ was arrested by police last Saturday night on his wedding day on the charges of target-killings‚ extortion and some other crimes in Karachi.
On the other hand, another MQM worker Mohammed Adil died in hospital due to alleged torture by Rangers personnel in Karachi.
According to MQM officials, Rangers personnel had arrested Adil from North Karachi on February 8.
The party has alleged that Adil was brutally tortured during custody and handed over to his family in critical condition.
He was on ventilator for two days in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but could not survive.
Earlier today, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi’s accused police for extra-judicial killings and blamed the law-enforcers of collecting Rs 220 million extortion from citizens on daily basis in Karachi.
Rizvi claimed that 45 MQM workers have gone missing during one year.
