Summary Saeed is among most wanted list of both countries but holds rallies in Pakistan openly.
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) - Leaders of Difa-e-Pakistan council have lashed out on India and United States saying both countries are an obstacle for negotiations with Taliban and subsequent peace in Pakistan. Wanted in India and US, Difa-e-Pakistan leader Hafiz Saeed said that the US has lost war in Afghanistan and that Americans are bound to get out of there.
Maulana Sami ul Haq said that the western media misrepresents the facts which are contrary to what we’re told. Jamaat Islami leader Liaqat Baloch said that the best governance system can only be based on Quran and Sunnat. Jamaat ud Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed said that Pakistan will have an important role to play after America’s exit from Afghanistan.
Saeed is termed as the mastermind of Mumbai attacks and is thus among the most wanted list of India and US, with US having a bounty over his head. Pakistani government has attempted to prosecute him a number of times in the recent years but he was acquitted on the basis of lack of evidence.
Hafiz Saeed and other controversial leaders of Difa-e-Pakistan often hold open processions throughout the country. Difa-e-Pakistan, literally ‘defense of Pakistan’ insists its objective is to ‘defend’ the country.
