Summary Registrar Supreme Court had written to the interior ministry for provision of security to former CJ
ISLMAABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Ministry of Interior on Friday issued orders to provide foolproof security to former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice (r) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. The ministry also directed the Cabinet Division to provide bullet-proof vehicle to the former CJP.
According to sources of interior ministry, reports of neglecting Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhr’s security were baseless.
It is worth mentioning here that Registrar Supreme Court had written a letter to the interior ministry.
The ministry was requested to provide foolproof security and bullet-proof vehicle to former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as he was facing security threats.
The provision of security to other retired judges was also sought in the letter.
Mr. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry retired on December 11. He served as the Chief Justice of Pakistan for around eight years five months and 12 days. During his tenure, he took historic decisions and fought for the restoration of judiciary.
