ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has refused to appear before an investigation team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in NICL corruption case.

The ex-PM was ordered to appear before a probe team of anti-corruption body for his alleged involvement in the multibillion corruption in National Insurance Company Limited (NICL).

According to Dunya TV sources, arrest warrants are likely to be issued if Gilani doesn’t appear before the NAB.

Gilani has reached Multan from Islamabad while personal secretary of ex-PM has received summons issued by NAB, the sources added.

Earlier in November, Supreme Court in its verdict, handed over the investigation of NICL scam to NAB and ordered to register cases against all those politicians and bureaucrats involved in the scam.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by the then Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry issued the verdict.
