ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The constitution of special court for hearing treason case against former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf has been challenged in Sindh High Court.
Sharifuddin Pirzada and Ibrahim Satti on Thursday met Pervez Musharraf at his Chak Shahzad farm house and discussed treason case.
It was decided in the meeting that the formation of special court would be challenged in the Supreme Court and a petition would be submitted to the SC in this regard within two days.
Meanwhile, PPP leader Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said open trial should be held in treason case against Pervez Musharraf. He said that Pakistan Army should not react over the proceeding of the case.
Three-member special court headed by Justice Faisal Arab of Sindh High Court would initiate treason trial against former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the constitution.
The special court’s other members include Justice Yawar Ali of Lahore High Court and Justice Tahira Safdar of Balochistan High Court.
On the other hand, the government has established special court for the trial of Musharraf. The court would start its proceeding at the building of Federal Shariat Court in Islamabad.
