ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz says the United States has given assurance to Pakistan that it will not carry out drone attacks during talks with the Taliban.
He was speaking at the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs‚ which was held in Islamabad on Wednesday with its Chairman Haji Adeel in the chair.
During the meeting, Aziz said that the US had been informed that talks with the Taliban had been hampered after Hakimullah Mehsud was killed in the drone strike.
Aziz added that Pakistan had informed the US not to attack the Taliban during the dialogue process.
