Summary Curfew is still imposed in Kohat on second day.
KOHAT (Dunya News) – A grand jirga will meet today (Tuesday) to decide on lifting or extension of curfew in Kohat.
Authorities on Monday imposed a curfew in Kohat after four people including two policemen were killed at a rally to protest against Friday’s sectarian clashes that left the major city of Rawalpindi under curfew all weekend.
On the occasion, all examinations under education board were cancelled and University of Science and Technology Kohat was closed for indefinite period.
Heavy contingents of police have been deployed on roads, whereas, army troops are patrolling different parts of the city.
Earlier on Monday, religious scholars held a meeting at Deputy Commissioner Amjad Ali Khan’s office where a 26-member committee was formed to restore law and order.
Funeral prayers of two policemen will be offered at 2:00pm today in Sargal area.
